The Youth Justice bill proposing a ‘demerit points’ scheme is currently before the Social Services and Community parliamentary select committee. Dale Lloyd, a ‘youth advocate’ appointed by the Ministry of Justice (and part of the Youth Justice Committee), was one of the authors of the Law Society submission and presented to the select committee on the 10th March 2021
